The Division CGI Trailer Depicts New York in Chaos

June 9, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

A new trailer for The Division shows how New York plunged into chaos.

For its E3 2014 press event, Ubisoft took the wraps off Tom Clancy’s The Division to show how the pandemic that brought New York City to ruin began in the form of a lengthy CGI trailer.

It begins with a woman singing the song “Silent Night, Holy Night” only to start crying when the child she’s singing it to falls sick and dies, followed by an angry, distraught man who takes his own life following the death of his family.

The trailer takes place over a period of weeks, with the days cycling by as everything goes to hell and back. The trailer ends with members of The Division attempting to wrest the city back from civil unrest, facing off a group of raiders and an even bigger group of enemies.

Watch it below.

In addition to the CGI opening, Ubisoft has released a five minute gameplay trailer of The Division on their YouTube channel. Watch that one here.
