Bethesda and Tango Gameworks have released new footage of Shinji Mikami’s upcoming survival horror game, The Evil Within, along with news that the game has been delayed to late October, 2014—on October 21, to be exact. The Evil Within is slated for simultaneous release on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
Originally slated for a much earlier release this year during the Summer, the game is being delayed for the sake of polish.
As for the footage, it was released alongside several previews of the game, which detail its gameplay and setting and explore what Mikami has planned. Bethesda has also released a feature reel of “non-actors” showcasing how scared they are of the game’s creepy elements. Watch them both below.
The Evil Within is being developed at Tango Gameworks, a Tokyo-based studio founded by Mikami in 2010. The company was later acquired by Bethesda’s parent company, Zenimax Media.
