Microsoft has finally officially announced the next installment in the Halo franchise. Halo 5: Guardians is slated for release Fall of 2015.
In Microsoft’s official press release, they did not share much along the line of story details, but they wanted to tell us about their grand plan for Halo. Each game has been designed to push each Xbox’s capabilities, and Guardians will be no different. It will be a significantly larger game than Halo 4, in terms of scale and scope, as well as features, and they are going for 60 FPS.
While some elements from Halo 4 will carry over, Microsoft has invested in much tech to make use of the Xbox One hardware and its capabilities to take full advantage of its capabilities. Guardians will serve as a showcase of what the console is capable of.
Microsoft also hopes that the game will demonstrate the capabilities of developer 343 Industries, and we know from all the job openings they’ve posted that this isn’t the same 343 that took over from Bungie for Halo ports and side story games. This 343 Industries is a far bigger company now, expanded to take over the task.
