Rockstar is developing a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game which is due for release before the end of March, 2015; that's according to parent company Take Two.
Speaking after the release of the company's latest financial report this evening, Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick commented that Rockstar is "hard at work on their upcoming line-up and we're excited about what they have in store for the new generation of systems this fiscal year."
Rockstar's games are predicted to account for Take Two's total revenues for the current fiscal year, Zelnick added.
The unannounced title will be revealed in "the coming months," possibly suggesting E3 announcement in June. Rockstar is widely believed to be developing a port of Grand Theft Auto 5 for PS4 and Xbox One but this has yet to be confirmed.
Zelnick has previously said Rockstar's Red Dead series is a "permanent franchise" and it's been a long time since we've heard anything of the developer's Cold War spy game Agent which was originally announced as a PS3 exclusive. Could a new-gen reworking be in development?
Take Two announced a record profit of $500 million due in large part to the massive success of Grand Theft Auto 5 which has shipped some 33 million copies. It was also revealed that Take Two subsidiary 2K Games' top selling title ever was Borderlands 2 with sales of nine million followed by Civilization 5 with six million and BioShock Infinite on five million sold.
