Mortal Kombat Movie Trailer Releases This week

February 17, 2021 by Dennis Patrick

There seems like a new trend is happening in films. We’re seeing more live-action films and television series get adapted from video games. This is nothing new as we’ve seen plenty of video game adapted films before and there are hits along with misses. With that said there tends to be more misses than hits.

But as mentioned quite a few video game adaptations are happening right now in the film industry. To name a few off-hand we have The Last of Us, Uncharted, Halo and Resident Evil are being adapted into movies or television series. Unfortunately, there is not much of a marketing campaign for those projects quite yet.

However, there is another film adaptation that will soon have its very own movie trailer. I’m of course referring to the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot movie. Not a ton of information on this film at the moment. Although we will soon have the first trailer as the official Twitter account alerted fans that they will get to see the first movie trailer on February 18th which is tomorrow. Hopefully, that will give viewers a chance to learn more about the film’s premise.

This is not the first time the popular mature fighting game was brought out into the market as a blockbuster movie. While there were previous movies released back in the 1990s, this will be a reboot giving viewers a new Mortal Kombat film experience. For now, it looks like we won’t have to wait long before we’ll get a better idea of the tone and visuals for the movie.

In terms of the video game franchise, Mortal Kombat 11 is still the latest installment players can enjoy. This game came out in 2019 and has been supported with DLC that offered more storylines or additional fighters. It would be interesting to see if more fighters are brought into the roster based on the upcoming movie adaptation.
