The Witcher 3 Will Have Dozens Of Unique Monsters To Hunt

May 5, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

CD Projekt RED drew inspiration from Slavic medieval myth, so they certainly did not lack for inspiration.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt promises to have quite the monster hunting. Is it enough to one-up Capcom’s killer hit? Probably not, but the details designer Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz revealed sound exciting nonetheless.

So, Witcher 3’s beasts will be unique from each other, and have different backstories behind them. Geralt will have to go the extra mile to find them, and when he does find them, the fighting won’t be easy. Each settlement will have at least one beast to take down.

Given the size of a settlement, as well as the game map, it looks like there will be dozens of creatures to seek out. CD Projekt RED took Slavic mythology as inspiration, and there are literally hundreds of monsters to take from that lore, particularly from the medieval ages.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming February 2015 to Windows, PS4 and Xbox One.
