Update: Activision has confirmed the leak and uploaded an official trailer in HD. Check it out below.
Details about the 2014 edition of Call of Duty has been leaked way ahead of schedule. Tonight, Destructoid managed to get their hands on the game’s announcement trailer as well as a host of screenshots intended for the game’s big debut on May 4. The game’s full title is Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
The leak comes after the reveal that Kevin Spacey would be playing a role in the upcoming game from Sledgehammer and Activision, and a documentary from VICE about PMCs.
According to the leaked information, the game revolves around a Private Military Company (PMC) or “soldier of fortune” organization run by Kevin Spacey’s character that turns against the US government. Much like EA’s Crysis series of games, players will don a set of exosuit armor allowing them to jump super high, tear through vehicles with super strength, scale buildings, and cloak themselves.
The leaked trailer reveals various details about the game, including the appearance of a Juggernaut-type suit, hoverbikes, heat vision, Orca-like VTOL aircraft (fans of Command & Conquer will be familiar with this one), spider tanks, and various futuristic-looking drones.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be released on November 4, 2014. Only the Xbox One version appears to be confirmed at this time.
