Bethesda has released a new trailer for Machine Games' Wolfenstein: The New Order which looks at the difference between stealth and mayham – i.e. shooting everything that moves – gameplay.
Interviewed on the PlayStation Blog, executive prodcuer Jerk Gustafsson commented on the importance of taking out enemy commanders regardless of which style of play you adopt.
"Being aware of enemy commanders is an important part of stealth tactics, and also for combat in general. All commanders are equipped with a radio which they use to set off the alarm and call for reinforcements. Unlocking the first perk within the stealth track enables you to display on-screen commander intel – showing the radio signal status as well as distance to the commander’s location.
"By silently taking out commanders unnoticed, they will be unable to raise alarms and call for reinforcements. Commanders also have the ability to call a second wave of reinforcements, making them critical to take out not only during stealth, but also when in full combat."
More combat centric-perks include larger magazine sizes and faster reload times as well as increased ammo loot from enemies and faster movement. Gustafsson says "it's possible, but very difficult" to unlock all of the perks in Wolfenstein during a single playthrough.
Wolfenstein: The New Order is set for release on May 20th and pre-ordering the game will unlock access to the next Doom's beta. While the game is being released on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers will need a PS4 or Xbox One to access Doom's beta.
