Dark Souls 2 is out on Steam, and with it, players have begun to report various issues that they are facing with the game.
Notably, those who have been previously (though not currently) banned by the Valve Anti Cheat system have found themselves unable to play the game online. Just as well, many Dark Souls 2 players are reporting that the game does not recognize or take input from their controller.
To that end, Bandai Namco has set up an official support thread for players of Dark Souls 2, dealing with issues such as game crashes upon start-up (with possible workarounds to be found here), issues with keyboard and mouse controls, and more.
Players seeking solutions to the game’s problems should head on over to the thread.
In the meantime, here are some solutions to common problems:
I do not know where my pre-order bonuses are

Dark Souls II does not recognize or take input from my controller
If you are experiencing this problem, try the following:
"Open up Device Manager and under Human Interface Devices, right click and disable all HID-compliant game controllers, and if you have a G13 disable the Logitch G13 Joystick. Restart the game and it should work.
You may also need to disable any virtual HID-compliant game controllers as well."
