Diablo 3 Power Leveling & Hardcore Gold Farming Exploit Guide

April 18, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

An exploit in Diablo 3 allows you to gain levels and gold rather quickly without the risk of death.

Playing Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls in hardcore mode is no joke. One death, and your character is dead forever. That being said, you’ll want to level a new character up to 70 to get more of those Paragon levels each time any one of your characters bites the dust, and grinding up to that level can be a real pain—unless you know what you use the following exploit, which we’ll talk about in just a second.

This is a guide on how to level up really quickly while farming gold all at the same time.

1. First off, you’ll want to make the game on Torment VI difficulty for maximum gold and experience. Play the game in Campaign mode and start up the quest Trailing the Coven in Act 1.

2. Click on Leah to activate the quest and use the waypoint over to the Wortham Chapel Cellar and walk all the way to the entrance of the Caverns of Aranaea where the Hermit is standing. Do not enter the cave.

3. Just grab the checkpoint and remake the game. Doing so will allow you to use a town portal back to the Hermit’s location.

4. Now for the fun part: Head back up the trail until you meet Rodger the Alchemist, a rare spawn NPC who has the potential to give you a quest called “The Sacrificial Hermit”. Head back down to the Hermit and claim your reward for completing the quest.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 ad infinitum for gold and experience.

You’ll be able to do this to level up any of your characters while earning a lot of gold in the process.

Honestly though, it’s not as lucrative as running rifts in any Torment difficulty, but it’ll net you some easy rewards if you’re playing the game in hardcore mode and don’t mind the grind.
