Streaming has been a popular entertainment media medium for years now. Twitch has also been the top place for streamers both new and established as personalities can quickly form a community. You are all likely aware of Twitch and if you’re a streamer then you know it’s a pretty difficult climb to really get a following. There’s a ton of work that also goes into streaming.
From ensuring you have the necessary equipment to stream, content planned out for viewers, and a somewhat dedicated schedule so viewers would know just when they can log online to watch. However, even if you check all those boxes, there’s no way of knowing just when or if your channel will ever take off. You could do everything right but still, somehow find your channel, not on anyone’s radar.
Getting exposure is the most difficult part for streamers on Twitch. As a result, a new feature is apparently in the works called Community Boost. This feature will allow channels to spend channel points to get featured on the front page. The details are scarce but according to the Twitch blog post, this feature will roll out this month and it will give a channel community a channel point goal.
From there, the community will have a couple of days to hit the goal before the challenge ends. If the community can hit the goal then they can get the Twitch channel feature on the front page although we’re not sure how long the channel will stay on the front page. Likewise, we’re not sure what will happen if too many channels hit the goal. At any rate, we’ll have to wait and see just when Twitch decides to roll this channel points feature out.
