There are a ton of movies that have been adapted from video game source material. Few hit the strides that the fans had hoped for when they release but that’s always the case. New films being adapted today really have taken fans by surprise and even past movie releases can have a following. For one I really enjoyed Mortal Kombat, a 1995 movie based on the hit franchise of the same name.
Mortal Kombat kept true to the overall storyline of a massive tournament that pinned the greatest fighters against each other. However, it’s been a long time coming that we got some skins based on these character likenesses. Turns out that NetherRealm Studios and the series creator Ed Boon agree. Recently, Ed Boon took to Twitter in order to tease a small character skins line up.
Don’t get too excited, we only got three character teases and it’s a noncolored photograph. Still, the characters look like how the actors portrayed them from the iconic 1995 movie. What we don’t know is just when these characters will show up and if they will offer anything else in terms of voice over work or potential storylines.
For now, it’s purely a waiting game to see just what NetherRealm Studios will deliver. That’s not all there’s a movie reboot coming out as well which will hopefully do even better when it comes out into the market sometime next year, 2021. As for Mortal Kombat 11, the game is available right now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia platforms. You can even watch our Before You Buy from the base game above along with the storyline DLC expansion down below.
