The Elder Scrolls Online: Medium Armor Crafting Guide

April 10, 2014 by Stephen Daly

How to make medium armor using the clothing profession in The Elder Scrolls Online.

The clothing profession in The Elder Scrolls Online allows players to craft both light and medium armour and YouTube user camelworks has a new guide detailing the medium armour creation process.

First off, you need to head to a clothing station which you'll find in almost every crafting area in most cities, if not small towns. To begin, find hide scraps in your inventory where they'll be included under 'refine', you'll need ten to get started. Then head over to the 'creation' tab.

You can change the material of the armour you want to make but this won't affect the stats, just the look, and this can be further modified by switching between the different crafting styles you've learned but if you're just starting off, you'll only be able to use your own race's style. In the video, camelworks chooses Dunmer which means obsidian will be added to the armour.

Once you've done all that, creating a full set of armour is simple, and you can then step outside to have a look at what you've crafted.

To improve the items you've made, head back to the crafting station and take off your whatever you want to improve – if you're wearing something, it won't show up for improvement. Select what you want to enhance, then head to the 'tannings' tab and you'll be able to improve your armour from normal to fine quality; the more hemmings you add, the stronger the chance that your improvement will work. You should always try to aim for 100% because if the improvement fails, you've not only destroyed the item but the hemmings as well.

Not only will the item's stats be better, the look will also change as you impove it.

If you're done with the armour you've made, you might want to consider the deconstruct option which gives you back some of the materials you used to make the armour in the first place.

You can check out a basic crafting guide for The Elder Scrolls Online here and some tips and tricks for the game as well.
