Carbon Games’ Airmech is making its way to Xbox Live, thanks to Ubisoft. Introducing AirMech Arena, a free-to-play MOBA on Xbox 360.
There’s no way around it; based on how it looks and plays, the game has the semblance of Transformers in Herzog Zwei. Using giant mechs that turn into fighter jets, you build armies and bases in a battle for resources and territories with other factions equipped with the same things, for the same objective. The more fortresses you conquer, the more units, pilots, items, and AirMechs you can unlock. While classified as a MOBA on PC, Airmech Arena will allow for single player, as well as multiplayer cooperative and competitive gameplay.
So, Airmech Arena is more classic RTS, just like Herzog Zwei. The game is coming to Xbox 360 in the summer and will get frequent regular updates after launch. This will include new maps, mechs, events and so forth. The game will also showcase its first demo at Pax East in the Ubisoft Digital Booth.
