LEGO: The Hobbit Launch Trailer Features Dwarves, Goblins, and a Shark

April 8, 2014 by Stephen Daly

The game features the first two The Hobbit movies while the third is coming as DLC.

LEGO: The Hobbit has a launch trailer to mark the game's North American release today, it comes out on Friday in Europe, featuring elves, dwarves, hobbits, Smaug, and a shark (at the 34 second mark).

The game is your average LEGO fair but it's a welcome return to J.R.R Tolkien's world after LEGO: Lord of the Rings and includes the first two movies of Peter Jackson's film adaptations, the third will be released as DLC.

We also get to see important locations like Mirkwood and Laketown along with key sequences such as the barrel ride down the river.

LEGO: The Hobbit is available for PC, PS3, PS4, PS VIta, Nintendo 3DS, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The Wii U edition of the game is set to release on April 22nd. There's also a PS3 bundle which includes the game.
