Sales of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y now stand at 12 million copies, making the two games the fastest selling 3DS titles to date.
In January, Nintendo announced that they had sold 11.6 million copies of the two games meaning that 400,000 units have been shifted since.
The news comes from a Pokemon Company press release which announced Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction – the 17th Pokemon feature film which is due for an English language broadcast at some point later this year. Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction is described as follows:
"The movie features Ash and Pikachu, plus other classic Pokémon as well as those making their animation debut from the blockbuster Pokémon X and Pokémon Y video games."
Pokemon X and Pokemon Y were released in October and have added to the more than 245 million Pokemon games sold to date. Given the continued success of the games, X and Y were the first to be released simultaneously worldwide, it's likely Pokemon Z isn't too far away.
