Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure, the long awaited return of the FMV game, finally has a release date. Atlus has revealed the game will come out April 22, and has outlined special preorder incentives for GOGcom and Steam.
Originally successfully crowdfunded almost two years ago, Tesla Effect received Atlus’ publishing services thanks to some insider connections, not to mention the coincidence of some Atlus USA employees actually backing the Kickstarter. Not to dwell too much on the nature of its development, but suffice to say series creators Chris Jones and Aaron Conners managed to tap into the retro game loving part of many a gamer’s imagination.
So, the game is available on both GOGcom and Steam, with different preorder bonuses available for each. Get the Steam version for a 10 % discount, down to $ 17.99, the full live jazz soundtrack, and a copy of The Pandora Directive. If you still swing DRM-free, get the GOGcom version and you’ll get the same discount and soundtrack, and your pick of free Tex Murphy game between Tex Murphy 1 and 2, Under A Killing Moon, The Pandora Directive, or Tex Murphy: Overseer. Not a bad deal either way, and that extra game is sure to keep you preoccupied in the few days left prior to its official release.
