Fable: The Journey Will Not Play Out on Rails

June 13, 2011 by Dennis Patrick

Molyneux assures us that Fable: The Journey will not play out on rails.

Fable has made its way to E3 2011 and gave the impression that the game is set on rails. What this means is the actual gameplay will act as if you have no choice of being able to move but instead having to watch your character move to certain points of the map and letting you take care of the enemies. However, Peter Molyneux wants to assure you that the game will not play as if you are on rails.

Peter Molyneux went on to say that the demo displayed at E3 was a horrendous mistake. Molyneux understands that the demo displayed does give the impression that the game appears to be on rails but most definitely will not be. The demo only shows you the feel you will get while facing enemies and had no plans on showing you the navigation controls just yet.
