Rocksteady Reveals They Are Developing A Suicide Squad Game

August 7, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Get ready for more details later this month.

Rocksteady Studios got its start back in 2004 but it really hit its strides when they first got the ability to play around in the DC Comics universe. This happened in 2009 when they released Batman: Arkham Asylum. That particular video game blew up as such a fun and iconic Batman game experience that additional installments followed afterward.

The franchise has spanned several installments with Rockstead Studios overseeing the series. We’ve received Batman: Arkham City, Batman: Arkham Knight, and lastly Batman: Arkham VR in 2016. Since then it’s been a mystery as to what the studio would be working on next. That mystery has finally been uncovered when Rocksteady Studios unveiled that their next title is about the Suicide Squad.

This has been a game tossed around in various rumors and supposed leaks online. However, until now, those rumors never gained too much traction. In the past, it seemed like there was a variety of different franchises that Rocksteady Studios would have taken on. Of course, the speculation was always based around DC Comics to see just what other comic book hero or villain the development team could pull off successfully once again.

While we know that the next game is based around Suicide Squad, the fine details are yet to be revealed. Instead, Rocksteady Studios is alerting fans that if they wish to know more about this new project then they will have to tune into DC FanDome. This is a digital event that will take place online on August 22, 2020. Essentially with San Diego Comic-Con not having an in-person event, this is an alternative to get an early look at what’s to come from DC Comics.

We’re certainly eager to see just where Rocksteady Studios decides to take Suicide Squad and for what platforms it will be available. At any rate, we’re going to practice some patience as the event is scheduled for later this month.
