GTA 5 DLC New Info Surfaces From 1.1 Update Files

February 25, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Looks like heists and tournaments are on the way, but the data we have now implies a lot of weird things about them.

Fans have found some new information regarding Grand Theft Auto Online, thanks to Update 1.10. Poring through Update 1.10’s rpf files revealed the information regarding getting heist details from – a printer?

Yes, believe it or not, it now seems that an in-game printer will be a prerequisite, or at least a huge advantage, if you are going to play the new heists.

Quoting verbatim, this is the information that was added to Heists:

At the printer, press ~INPUT_CONTEXT~ to collect the heist details.

There is also new information relating to tournaments. There is something called a Tournament Qualifications Playlist, which seem to be a way for players to watch others playing. Qualifying for tournaments seem to be a matter of meeting a certain time limit. Obvious possibilities for these tournaments could be official GTA Online races. However, they could just as well be high score/time attack challenges for heists. We’ll share those text details below:

Tournament Qualification Playlist

You successfully recorded a total time of ~a~. All players that qualify for the Tournament will be contacted by Rockstar once the qualification period is over.

You've joined a Tournament Qualification Playlist in progress. Scores from this attempt will not be submitted.

Are you sure you want to start this Tournament Playlist?

Lastly, Rockstar has added the name of a new contact, simply called Maze Bank. The immediate speculation is this could be a new element for the stock markets, but again, speculating is all we can do at this point.

Fans appear to be hugely impatient about DLC for the game, which can be a problem, but also reveals huge demand from fans. We’ll let you know when Rockstar reveals the full details on all of this as it comes out.
