Kojima Calls Arguments on Resolution, Framerates ‘Nonsense’

February 16, 2014 by Josiah Renaudin

Hideo Kojima isn’t convinced that all this talk of different resolutions and framerates across consoles matters.

Hideo Kojima, the main man behind the Metal Gear franchise and one of the most active developers on Twitter, doesn’t want to hear your complaints about framerates and resolution. The veteran creator has been Tweeting up a storm all night concerning Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes and close to the end of his string of posts, Kojima told all of his followers that he finds the talk of games running at 720p versus 1080p “nonsense.”

You can see his full explanation for this statement in the series of Tweets below.

GZ has horizontal spread of play with multi-platform, multi-generation, and tablet which allows SNS element. (cont)

I want u to feel the future by looking at the evolution of MGS' expression and play as only one of the new stealth game.

Thus, to me frame rate or resolution that often get to asked, is nonsense. But peple keep asking so I will make it publish soon.

As mentioned again, we have adjusted GZ to have the same impression, game play, control, and difficulty level regardless of hardware. (cont)

However, the reason why I release the prologue w next gen release is so that I want u to see the future of what the next gen game feels like

A bit long winded, but if you’ve played any of the Metal Gear games, it makes sense that their creator leans toward extended explanations. If you’re interested in seeing more from Ground Zeroes, there’s been plenty of new information and art released this year. Just know that the prologue could last only two hours.
