This is a guide for the M27-IAR for Call of Duty Ghosts.
The M27-IAR outputs good damage. It can kill with three shots at close and medium ranges, two if one is a headshot. On farther ranges, that increases to four shots to kill, three with one headshot.
Rate of fire is low at 705 rounds per minute. This results in less reliable performance up close, but it will help keep you focused on your target and delay reloads. Hipfire is poor. You can use short, 200 round bursts somewhat efficiently, but one wrong pull of the trigger will waste them.
Recoil is moderate and manageable. Aim time is slow at 350 ms, and movement is at the slower side with 80 % mobility.
Capacity is the M27-IAR’s ace in the hole, as it holds 100 rounds per magazine, 150 rounds for extended magazines. This is constrained by a slow reload time of 4.77 seconds, but fast for its class.
The M27-IAR is good as a long range LMG, thanks to its consistent high damage and manageable recoil. A foregrip will raise that advantage further, making it easier to land shots and make you more efficient. On the other end of the spectrum, you can safely equip the silencer, knowing you can manage it. The combination of the two means you can three shot kill anyone from any range without getting detected.
For Perks, you’ll want Focus, as you do for any long range weapon. Sleight of Hand is worth considering if you’re planning for a covert playstyle. Similarly, Off The Grid will help keep enemies off your back, whether you are going incognito or not.
