There is a ton of hype over the next-generation video game console platforms. Going into 2020 we knew that both Microsoft and Sony had plans to bring out a brand new video game console into the market by this holiday season. What we don’t know is the different features each platform may provide to outdo their opponent. Now a new patent has been discovered for Sony that could offer a slight insight on the future of their PlayStation 5.
If this patent proves to be real then we could see Sony bring out a feature that would allow players to enjoy multiplayer games without their opponent suddenly disconnecting. We’ve all seen it happen where a player ragequits a game and the match coming to a sudden stop or a waiting game to finish the match up before moving on to your next opponent. It can be a bit frustrating to deal with if you’re just after some gameplay and Sony apparently agrees as they have a patent in which AI will take over the missing player.
This AI will apparently allow the game to continue on without and interruptions which would be ideal on not only 1v1 cases but for team matches. We’re sure that there will be some areas in which an actual teammate would work out better than an AI counterpart, but it would at least not give teams at a bigger disadvantage. It’s worth pointing out that this is just a patent and we don’t know if this is a feature that will come with the PlayStation 5.
There’s a lot of unanswered questions when it comes to the PlayStation 5 so perhaps when we move into the streams later this year that specifically highlights the PlayStation 5 console, we will see some of these patents or features get officially unveiled along with some demonstrations.
