Some PlayStation 4 users are having a difficult time with their save files. A bug has infected a handful of systems that’s deleting hours upon hours of data without any warning, according to an extended thread on the PlayStation forum. Error CE-34878-0 seems to be taking no prisoners, but Sony is offering at least one solution that might fix the issue.
"If you are experiencing this ce-34878-0 error code, please close the application and then install the latest system software and game patch,” a post in the support forum reads. “If the error occurs again, initialize the PS4 system after back-up of the save data and please also submit any crash reports after re-booting your console when the error occurs."
