Precursor Games’ social media manager Phil Haymes has reappeared on their forums, just as promised, to confirm that Shadow of the Eternals is still very much a going concern.
First, he thanked all the fans who have continued to express their support on the forums and on Facebook, as well as the people running the fan podcast, the Order 333.
Phil then makes it a point to confirm that Denis Dyack will be joining him soon, after a certain period of inactivity. As he had explained earlier, he and Denis will be active in the forums and keep the fans engaged for the project. They are definitely planning to keep the forums active in the interim.
However, they will not be able to provide any updates on the project for a long time. Again, they did mention this before, but essentially they will be taking their time assessing the options they have available, as well as what’s best for the game. Phil concludes by asking fans to stay active and keep talking with them on their social channels.
I really do believe that Precursor has been working overtime to prove Shadow of the Eternals is completely on the level, and this should be more than sufficient proof to any doubters. Is Dyack’s involvement enough to kill off any chances the game will get made? If so, that is a shame, especially when you consider how many other developers continue to get a free pass. This isn’t just Denis’ project, it’s Precursor Games’ project. We’re hopeful, as the 8th generation of consoles starts stretching out its legs, that Shadow of the Eternals will find its market and get into production to finally prove the doubters wrong.
