DayZ, the post apocalyptic zombie survival game, exceeded one million copies sold of the Early Access Steam release. A survivor counter tracks the number of copies sold and passed the one million mark overnight.
DayZ saw continued success after earning $5.1 million in just one day. The still alpha-stage DayZ release didn't stop selling over the holidays as it reached 875,000 copies sold through Steam.
Although many players already explore abandoned homes and search for unused pants, Bohemia Interactive doesn't expect to enter the beta phase of development until at least the end of this year.
Players can enter the DayZ Early Access through Steam, but even Bohemia Interactive recommends that players should avoid purchasing DayZ during the alpha stage.
