Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII New Trailer and Screens Emerge

January 15, 2014 by Stephen Daly

36 new images show off returning characters, maps, costumes, and more.

Square Enix has released a new trailer for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII which shows the return of Caius Ballad along with a host of new screens focusing on maps, recurring characters, costumes, and enemies.

Lightning Returns sees the titular heroine tasked with saving as many people as possible before the end of the world in one week's time though players can push this to 13 days by performing various in-game tasks.

In the game, players will no longer be expected to grind but will rather have to meet specific objectives and resources are limited meaning time management is essential.

One of the major areas Square Enix has focused on is Lightning's costumes and in some of the images below we see what different effects wearing certain clothing will have.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will be released on PS3 and Xbox 360 on February 11th in North America and om February 14th in Europe.
