UPDATE: Naughty Dog has confirmed that The Last of Us: Left Behind will be released on February 14th and can be pre-ordered now.
ORGINAL STORY: Left Behind, the story based DLC for The Last of Us, is set for release on February 14th for $14.99 according to a post on NeoGAF.
Despite the date being listed on the US PlayStation Store Sony has yet to officially announce a release for the highly-anticipated add-on which focuses of Ellie before she met Joel in the events of the main game. Ellie teams up with her friend Riley who of course does not appear in the main game suggesting a rather grim fate is in store for her; we'll likely also play through the moment in which Ellie becomes infected.
February 14th, a Friday, is an unusual date for a PSN release and may indicate that it is a holding date. Alternatively, the high profile nature of the DLC might be enough for Sony to relax their launch restrictions. The Last of Us originally launched on a Friday in the US despite the country's normal habit of Tuesday releases.
A dynamic theme and comic is included with the download. The Last of Us: Left Behind was announced at the PlayStation 4's North American launch event.
