Look, Rare just hasn’t been making the games that the fans want over the past few years. The U.K. developer has been hard at work on motion-controlled projects like Kinect Sports, but with games like Banjo-Kazooie and Perfect Dark under the company’s belt, it’s difficult to not what them to go back to their roots. The many fans of the Viva Pinata brand took to Reddit (via OXM) to express their hopes and dreams for a new game, and Microsoft PR man Larry "Major" Hryb "Nelson" chimed in on the thread give a bit of much-needed hope to these wayward gamers.
"FYI: I sent this thread to the head of Rare," he told the group of fans. "So I am sure he's lurking here. Somewhere."
Does that mean that we’ll be seeing a new Viva Pinata this year? Unfortunately, that’s unlikely. But as long as there’s fan demand, you never know what franchises could return.
