The success of Batman: Arkham Asylum almost guarantees that everyone who played the game will want to get their hands on Arkham City when it comes out. A new issue of the Official Xbox Magazine has some new details on what players can expect to see in the new game.
According to the magazine, the entire game takes place in the span of a single night. Batman will have to fight his way through various locations, including The Bowery, a steel mill, the Gotham City Police Department, Amusement Mile, a church, Ace Chemicals, Park Row, Tyger Storage Facility, and Wonder Tower.
Batman can spend his experience points on 30 different upgrades. Most of the gadgets from the original game will be returning, and given even further upgrades. An upgraded Batclaw can snatch weapons from enemies.
The developers stated that getting a 100% completion will require completing the game's New Challenge Mode and require at least 50+ hours of playtime. The Riddler is said to have scattered hundreds of challenges and trophies throughout the game, and the challenges are much like the Assassin's Tomb scenarios in Assassin's Creed 2.
Batman's flight controls have been improved, allowing him to grapple to various objects mid-flight to alter his speed and trajectory. Additionally, Batman's grapple gun will have considerably longer range.
A hands-on playthrough and more information about the game can be found in the latest issue of OXM. You can also check out some amazing Batman: Arkham City Wallpapers in HD here.
