Square Enix Issues Another Statement Regarding Physical Copies of Final Fantasy 7 Remake

March 29, 2020 by Jordan Biazzo

Planning on picking up the game physically?

Square Enix has taken to their website to address the growing concern of the physical release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which is only a couple of weeks away from launching.

The publisher issued yet another statement on their site that they are currently trying everything in their path to ensure a smooth psychical launch for the game. Many gamers pre-ordered the game in advance, with special editions, collector editions and due to the quarantining and social distancing, many gamers are wondering if they will be able to pick up the game on day one.

Square Enix notes that the proactive measures being taken to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus are likely to affect the distribution and retail landscape in western regions at launch.

Check out the updated announcement from Square Enix down below:

As we prepare for the release of FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE on April 10, we wanted to keep you updated on how the proactive measures being taken to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus are likely to affect the distribution and retail landscape in western regions at launch.

As you will be aware, many countries are limiting entry or closing their national and state borders and restricting the distribution and delivery of non-essential items. Understandably these restrictions are being implemented so that essential items can reach their destination as fast as possible.

This does not mean that box copies of FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE will not be dispatched, it just means that we cannot control the date the game may arrive.

In many countries and states, retail stores are closing to help with social distancing measures. If you placed a pre-order with one of these retailers, we advise you to check their websites for the latest information about the status of pre-orders, as well as pick-up and/or delivery information. Please ensure your mailing address and contact details are up to date, as some retailers have begun contacting customers with delivery updates.

In related news, Square Enix recently announced these awesome new polygon figurines from the original Final Fantasy 7 title!

The product is now available to order on the Square Enix shop for $65 USD. However, the problem here is that the set of figures will come in a blind box, meaning there is no guarantee you will receive all of the characters, which is sort of a bummer especially with the price point. But the figurines are pretty cool and like I mentioned, if you’re a fan of Final Fantasy these will be awesome to own! Learn more about the polygon figurines right here!

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is set to release for the PlayStation 4 on April 10th. Are you excited for the upcoming title? Let us know in the comments below!
