This is a guide for the StA101 Kameraad in Killzone Shadow Fall, one of the more unique sniper rifles in the game.
The StA101 Kameraad is one of two Helghast sniper rifles, available to the Scout Class, and is making its debut in Shadow Fall. This is considered one of the weaker guns in the game.
The Kameraas consistently does 3 hit kills. It has one of the largest ranges in game, so you will not see that number dip with most targets. It also has the highest ROF for any sniper rifle at 225 RPM. Unfortunately, and this may be obvious for some of you, that’s actually not very high. 3.5 second reload times is on par with other sniper rifles.
The Sta101 has one ace in the hole: an 18 round capacity magazine. This loosens up accuracy requirements so that you need only shoot in area surrounding a target to get them.
Speaking of attachments, the Sta101 starts with the standard Helghast holo sight. You can upgrade to the 1.6x ACOG Sight, preferable for compensating for the Kameraas’ shortcomings. The Scope X4 will make the Kameraas a great long range rifle, but it will be bad at close range, thanks in part to inconsistent hip firing.
The Kameraas also has three underbelly attachments available. The Taser will stun nearby enemies, and can even do so at the same time. Getting tased distorts their vision and prepares them to be taken out.
The Silencer is self explanatory. It does not affect damage or range in any way. If you are playing in Stealth class, using this gun, the silencer, and cloaking is an ideal setup.
The E-Stun Missile throws out missiles that disables enemy vehicles, making them vulnerable to attack. It will also stun other enemy vehicles within its blast radius.
With all of the Kameraas’ problems, it is best utilized as a midrange rifle. While it is not the best gun out there, it is still useful depending on the circumstances. You can find out more about recommended class setups in the source video below.
