Mortal Kombat has been around for ages and it’s quite the popular video game franchise. Not only have we seen the game hit arcades to home consoles, but we’ve also seen some film adaptations. In fact, there are two films in the works at the moment, a live-action adaptation and this animated film that just received its first trailer. If you’re a fan of the franchise or even a newcomer, this movie may be worth the watch.
As mentioned, Mortal Kombat has been around for decades but this animated movie seems to bring out a storyline that anyone can enjoy. Well, anyone that can view R-rated material at least. Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge follows the initial Mortal Kombat storyline, where fighters from Earth are placed in a tournament against other unique characters from beyond. It’s a battle to the death and with it, you’ll find several characters you’ve come across throughout the franchise history.
With the fate of the world and its citizens relying on the greatest fight in the world, this tournament is going to be rather brutal. It also doesn’t look like the film will pull and punches as the movie is rated R for strong bloody violence throughout the film. For now, we will have to wait a while longer before we’re able to get our hands on the film as it’s not releasing to the market until sometime in the spring of this year.
