Not to be confused with Michael Jackson's creepy theme park, Rune Factory developer Neverland has run out of money and has halted the development of all its current projects. The bankruptcy declaration comes after an eleventh-hour funding drive to rescue the beleaguered company.
Published by Marvelous AQL, Rune Factory 4 was the studio's last released game, and though it sold relatively well for its budget (150,000 copies as of September 2012) the game's sales were not enough to spur the company's finances.
Siliconera reports that an official Neverland statement cited changes in the business environment as a key issue behind the studio's losses, and that it will begin bankruptcy proceedings soon.
