The upcoming Sony Xperia Play is set to launch May 26, 2011. The new gaming phone will be available with Verizon. The carrier will be taking pre-orders for the device set at $200 including a two year contract on Thursday. Sony's new smartphone has picked up a good amount of attention online with several leaks and promotion. The Xperia Play was obviously not a well kept secret with the amount of leaks spreading over the web including a full commercial.
The phone will be running Android with a full Playstation Suite framework. Xperia will have access to the PSN network, however, with a limited compatibility. This will be the first PlayStation Certified smartphone to hit the market. There will be quite a few launch games available for download on the PSN network. Some of the games include Madden NFL 11, The Sims 3, Crash Bandicoot and Tetris.
