Pokemon fans continue to astound me. Today we have for you information on Instacheck Hotspot, a fast way to check your Pokemon in Pokemon X and Y that was completely made by the fans and is not officially created or endorsed by Nintendo.
Instacheck Hotspot is a Windows program that reads your Pokemon data from the 3DS wirelessly and shares the data back to you. It will provide even more data than the in-game Global Trade System, particularly data on the Pokemon eggs you are hatching. As you might have guessed, it is another way to get Perfect 6 IVs, but even if that is of no interest to you, it’s astounding that Pokemon fans will go this far for the sake of competitive play. This also seems to be a case of Nintendo looking the other way, as they often do as long as there’s no money involved.
The way Instacheck Hotspot works is it creates a wi-fi hotspot in your own home. You then have your 3DS connect to that hotspot, and Instacheck then analyzes the network traffic going to the 3DS, including all the precious Pokemon data. Instacheck cannot bypass Global Trade System encryption, so this does not work for Global Trade System trades.
Your computer needs to be running Vista or higher, and you will also need to install .NET 3.5 or higher, as well as WinPCap. The computer also needs to have an internet connection, as well as a wi-fi connection NOT used for internet. You can easily set this up by wiring an internet connection on your laptop, and then activating your wi-fi adapter but not using it for internet.
You can get complete installation details here. Once that’s all set up, Instacheck should do its job for you instantly. Subsequently, if you are interested in breeding Perfect IVs, you will want to get in contact with /r/SVExchange. Learn the details of using unhatched egg data, as well as how to sign up for the exchange here.
