2K has suddenly and unexpectedly announced that Battleborn’s servers will be officially shutting down in January 2021.
Yes, you heard that sad news correct. Developers Gearbox and 2K Studios have decided to pull the plug on their multiplayer title, Battleborn, making it no longer be available to play on January 2021. 2K makes it clear that at the moment, you won’t see any effect if you own a copy of the game.
The first step in this process will begin on February 24, 2020, and it will start by not allowing any players to buy in-game currency known as “Platinum”. Then the game’s servers will remain active until January 2021 and then the game will officially shut down making the game unplayable in any fashion. 2K also details more information will be given at a more appropriate time. As of right now, there isn’t much to do but play it and enjoy it while we can.
As of today, Battleborn has been removed from digital storefronts and will no longer be available to purchase.
