The latest issue of German-based PC Games contains a number of interesting new details about Bethesda's upcoming roleplaying game.
Bethesda revealed to the magazine that the land of Skyrim will contain eight to nine minor settlements outside of the five major cities that feature in the game. Players will be able to purchase and own houses in these locations.
Cities and settlements can be found on the game's map, which will be getting a huge revamp. It is described as bearing similarities to Google Maps, and will feature 3D terrain. Unfortunately, it is not possible to add notes to the map at this point in time.
Skyrim will contain a living economy, as traders and peasants depend on cornfields for their harvests. If a field is destroyed in a fire, traders will run out of corn and prices for the resource will skyrocket.
Unlike previous Elder Scrolls titles, children will be very much present in the game. Bethesda has not revealed whether it will be possible to injure them.
Moving forwards, Bethesda has revealed plans to connect Skyrim to social networks like Facebook.
