SimCity: Cities of Tomorrow Expansion Introduces Futuristic Specializations

November 5, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

Futuristic specializations are in store for mayors who own the Cities of Tomorrow expansion pack for SimCity.

Cities of Tomorrow

EA Maxis has published a brand spankin' new introductory trailer for the first SimCity expansion pack, Cities of Tomorrow, to showcase what's in store for mayors who run the expansion.

This video showcases both The Academy and OmegaCo specializations. After unlocking the relevant research, players transform their cities using MagLevs, Drone factories, Garbage Atomizers Wave Generators and more.

According to Maxis, these brand new features are set against the backdrop of the multi-zoned structures called MegaTowers that dwarf the city skyline, and make it even easier to build large, ultra-dense cities.

Maxis claims that the title enjoys over two million players worldwide, and as such, Cities of Tomorrow gives players the ability to evolve their cities as they take them "on a journey to the future." Neat.
