Siliconera reports that Square Enix anticipates making a profit of 4.7 billion yen ($48 million) thanks to the better than expected success of Final Fantasy 14's relaunch.
Originally Square had envisioned net sales of between 59 billion yen ($598 million) and 63 billion yen ($639 million). The company adjusted their sales figures to 61.7 billion yen ($626 million).
Its operating loss was initially estimated at two billion yen ($20 million) but now Square Enix expects to make a profit of 4.7 billion yen ($48 million) thanks to the strong performance of its arcade business in Japan and the re-release of Final Fantasy 14.
Net income was also revised upwards from between a zero to 1.3 billion yen loss ($13 million) to 2.6 billion yen ($26 million) profit. All of the figures are for the six month ending September 30th.
After reporting an "extraordinary loss" and the resignation of CEO Yoichi Wada earlier this year a review of the entire company was ordered. Square Enix are working on a number of titles including new Tomb Raider and Deus Ex games.
