GTA 5: Best Customs and Racer Cars List

November 5, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

Read on for a quick rundown of which cars are the fast and the foxy.

We have a great new Grand Theft Auto 5 guide on which cars are best for races, as well as which ones look good for customization. Make sure to check out our GTA Cars List for reference when going through this.

This is not meant to be a definitive guide, but basically all the homework has been done here and it takes into account all the info any interested GTA racer would want. This includes 400 race wins, speed, acceleration, brakes, handling, etc.

We’ll cut to the chase here even further and share with you the most recommended cars for each class.

SPORT

Sports cars have a huge variance in stats so picking out the best racer car is open for interpretation. With that out of the way, the Benefactor Feltzer and Obey 9F Cabrio are the best picks in terms of looks, while the Grotti Carbonizzare and Dewbauchee Rapid GT are the recommended racers.

SPORTS CLASSIC

In here, the researcher found that the stats tell the wrong story. In spite of better stats, the Pegassi Monroe does not perform as well as the Truffade Z-Type when it comes down to the clutch. The Truffade is also great in terms of looks, although the Grotti Stinger GT and Declasse Tornado are also very good.

MUSCLE

The Bravado Gauntlet is the fastest muscle car, hands down. The Vapid Dominator runs a close second. The Imponte Phoenix and Declasse Sabre Turbo are the best looking cars in this class.

MOTORCYCLE

The Dinka Akuma outpaces the second best racing motorcycle, the Bati 801, based on pure acceleration. The Western Badger, Western Daemon and LCC Hexer are the best motorcycles in terms of looks.

SEDAN

Sedans are straightforward cars, so the best racers and best looking sedans are the Benefactor Shafter and the Obey Tailgater.

COUPE

If you can deal with the poor handling, the Ubermacht Oracle is the best racer, if not, the Dewbauchee Exemplar is a better all-around vehicle. Coupes generally look similar, so you can take any one and turn it into a pearl.

COMPACT

The Dinka Blista and Weeny Issi are evenly matched racers, but the Issi is also a great looking car.

SUV

The Benefactor Dubsta is the best looking SUV, for what that’s worth, while the Gallivanter Baller is the  best racer.

OFF-ROAD

Race with the Malibu Sanchez, and customize the Vapid Sandking XL or the Karin Rebel.

SUPER

The Grotti Cheetah is recommended for looks (I personally think this is the best looking car in the whole game) while  the Truffade Adder is the best racer. Overflod Entity XF is a close number two racing super.

HEIST

Not exactly a racing class, but hey, this is what you’ll actually need to know to move forward.

This goes without saying, but different  heist vehicles come out on top based on how many people are coming. Both the Overload Entity XF and Pegassi Infernus are good for two. The Karin Sultan and the Dewbauchee Exemplar are best for four people, and the Declasse Granger for eight. If you are bringing more people than that, call Pegasus. The Barracks and Airport Bus will seat the most you can bring at one time, at 16 people.
