To bring variety from the 35 Call of Duty: Ghosts Perks players can choose from, Infinity Ward assigned point values for each perk ranging from 1-5.
Loadout customization uses a point system to determine which perks or weapons players can select. Each loadout typically pools eight points used to spend on Perks and up to 12 total points depending on other equipment. Since primary, secondary, lethal and tactical weapon slots all require one point; players can load up on 12 points worth of Perks in favor of just a knife.
Perks file into seven separate categories with increasing point values for better Perks. Speed, handling, stealth, awareness, resistance, equipment and elite categories ensure that Perks exist to accommodate a variety of play styles. The Call of Duty blog details some of the available Perks. While Ghosts won't restrict how many Perks you select from a given category, Perks unlock at each new level. For early access to certain Perks, player must spend Squad Points.
Call of Duty: Ghosts launches on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC on November 5th. An Xbox One version launches on November 22nd and a PlayStation 4 version launches on November 15th. To upgrade your current generation version to an Xbox One or PS4 version, it will only cost you $10.
