Dead Island developer Techland has announced its decision to delay co-op focused dungeon crawler Hellraid until 2014; the game was originally set for a late 2013 release.
On the game's official website producer Marcin Kruczkiewicz wrote:
"If we released our game this year we would have to make too many compromises and the final product probably wouldn’t meet all our promises and your expectations. That’s why we’ve made a tough decision to release Hellraid in 2014 or to be more precise: when it’s done.
"We want to redesign the magic system to make it even more powerful and diverse, add new ways of casting spells and a set of new, more visually stunning spells."
Techland also want to use the delay to add "completely new" game modes for both the single and multiplayer elements of Hellraid.
The studio is also working on Dying Light which appears to be Mirror's Edge with zombies. Hellraid will hit PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 next year. The game follows a number of other titles which have been pushed back to 2014 including Watch_Dogs, Drive Club, Fable Anniversary, and Kinect Sports Rivals.
