Death Standing is an interesting game, there’s no getting past that. It’s a title that Hideo Kojima is banking on with his debut studio, Kojima Productions and one that he’s been hyping up. Being that he has the creative control and no longer has to abide by the higher-ups of a studio, there’s no telling just what this game will unfold for players. While we’re close to its launch, new bizarre information is still coming out from the legendary developer. The latest shred of news is that the baby featured in Death Stranding will be able to communicate through the DualShock 4 controller.
The baby is one of those mysterious elements that will likely reveal more throughout the game. If you have seen any of the previous trailers then you know that the baby is attached to the protagonist at all times and can easily get disturbed, forcing players to gently rock their controller back and forth to get the little guy back to sleep.
Now a new tweet from the official Hideo Kojima Twitter account alerts his followers that the baby featured in the chamber will be able to communicate through the DualShock 4 controller. There are plenty of video games that make use out of the small controller speaker, but we’re not too sure just what Hideo Kojima means.
While it could be simple as the baby cries and coos will come out from the controller, Hideo Kojima may have even more tricks up his sleeve making the baby communicate a bit more to the player. I’m speculating here but from the footage we’ve seen so far, it wouldn’t be a huge stretch if this baby starts up a full conversation with the player as they go about their mission.
Currently, Death Stranding is slated to release into the market on November 8, 2019, exclusively on the PlayStation 4.
