Nintendo 3DS XL Gets The Gold Zelda Treatment

October 29, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

The Nintendo 3DS XL is the latest device to get the gold Zelda treatment from Nintendo.

Nintendo has made it something of a tradition to release special editions of The Legend of Zelda in gold, as well as Zelda-themed gaming consoles over the years. The company's next-to-latest handheld device, the Nintendo 3DS XL, is the latest to receive the gold treatment.

As confirmed by Nintendo's Eiji Aonuma in a newly released video by the company, the 3DS XL in gold will be available for purchase in North America on November 22.

The gold-colored 3DS XL will be on sale on the same day as The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

"I am grateful for the fans supporting Zelda over the years," said Aonuma-san. "Please enjoy Link's new adventure with the gold system."
