Daymare: 1998 has an interesting backstory if you’ve been following this game for the past few years. From development team Invader Studios, Daymare: 1998 started out as a fan remake of Resident Evil 2. As these things tend to go, the project was killed, but rather than disbanding the team repurposed their content to reflect a new IP altogether thus Daymare: 1998 was born, giving survival horror fans a new third-person over-the-shoulder video game to enjoy.
Overall, Daymare: 1998 is not too different from the storyline we’ve come to know and love in Resident Evil. Essentially players take on the role of a special task force that are sent to a small town that has been infected by a chemical weapon, turning the innocent into a bloodthirsty monster. While the game may have started out as Resident Evil fan title remake, there is a resurgence starting to come back for the old school classic survival horror genre. With the official Resident Evil 2 remake becoming a hit and fans eager to see Capcom release a remake of Resident Evil 3, we’re certainly interested in seeing if this game happens to catch the same reception.
While the game is slated to release this summer, we don’t have an official release date to unveil. With that said, we do have a new enemy video highlight that was recently posted online. The monster is called the Melted Man and it’s apparently what happens if gas catches you in solarium.
