Quantic Dream Comments On Their Current Goals & Ambitions Thanks To NetEase Partnership

July 26, 2019 by Dennis Patrick

After the partnership with NetEase, Quantic Dream explores new ambitions.

If you’re a PlayStation fan then chances are you know about Quantic Dream. For over a decade, the development studio has been delivering interactive storytelling video games exclusively for the PlayStation brand. That has now changed and several video games developed from the studio has started to make their way onto the PC platform. This is due in thanks to the latest partnership with the development studio, NetEase, a massive publisher that offered support for the studio.

It’s been over a year since the release of Quantic Dream’s last video game title, Detroit: Become Human. The video game released back in May of 2018 and while it’s gearing up for its upcoming launch on the PC platform, we’ve been curious as to what will be coming next from the studio. In a recent interview with GameSpot, Quantic Dream’s founder, David Cage, spoke about what is in store from the studio next and it’s quite a lot. Present during SDCC 2019, David Cage didn’t offer anything in terms of what video game the developer is working on next. Instead, we got some insight into the company and their current ambitions.

For starters, it’s with NetEase’s help that Quantic Dream can work on several different video game titles rather than putting all their effort into one single game. David Cage also spoke of the development studios interest in branching out and publishing not only their video game titles but video games from other developers as well. Likewise, we may see the studio branch out to other video game genres. However, the studio founder was not ready to pull the veil off of their current project in development quite yet.

In the meantime, if you didn’t own the PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4 then you can enjoy the past exclusive titles, Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain for the PC. With that said, their latest release, Detroit: Become Human, is slated to launch on the PC platform in September of this year.
