The beta for Battlefield 4 is out, but it doesn't look as pretty as videos of the game might have indicated. This is because the game doesn't have all of its bells and whistles which are set to grace the full retail version, DICE has confirmed.
Speaking on Twitter, DICE's Tech Director Johan "Repi" Andersson made it clear that the beta is simply that—a beta, and that the graphical options in the final game will differ from what's currently being offered.
The #BF4 PC beta is a beta, not all graphics options are hooked up or tweaked yet and performance is not final. But please do test the game

To be sure, the criticism that invoked his response is to be expected given how much better the game's single player campaign appears to look in trailers.
Battlefield 4 will be out by the end of the month, on Oct. 29.
