Famitsu has confirmed the latest update to Persona 4 Arena: Persona 4 The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold, coming with a completely new character, Sho Minazuki.
Previously confirmed to the game is the addition of Persona 3 characters Yukari Takeba and Junpei Iori, appropriately updated to reflect the passage of time as is the case with their colleagues Aigis, Mitsuru Kirijo, and Akihiko Sanada.
In Persona 3, Yukari and Junpei are very close to the protagonist, with Yukari actually the character closest to the player. Yukari is a popular girl with a cheerful personality, who hides her dark side under that pleasant façade. Junpei is a happy-go-lucky guy, goofy and perverted, and also barely hides his own insecurities.
In game, Yukari is known to be very skilled with the bow and arrow. In the new fighting game this is reflected in her speedy attacks, that are difficult to react to. Yukari has also become a famous actress in the sentai series Phoenix Ranger Featherman R, and brings her Pink Argus outfit into battle.
On the other hand, Junpei has become a professional baseball player, and brings his bat into the game as a power character. Junpei has some novelty in him in that all his moves revolve around a baseball theme.
Very little is known of Sho Minazuki, except that he wears the uniform of Yasogami High School. If you ask me, his look is reminiscent of Ryuji Yamazaki from King of Fighters, or Shikyoh from The Last Blade, but then again, Labrys is the last character I would expect to be the main villainess of a fighting game, so you never know. Persona 4 The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold is coming later this year. For the moment, check out the trailer below.
