PlayStation Home is kind of a mess. Like Second Life, it's one of the weirdest places in gaming and is far from the advertising boon its creators at Sony intended for it to become when they first came up with it years ago as a virtual reality alternative to Microsoft's far more successful player avatar system.
While the game has managed to earn some degree of popularity in the West, it couldn't be more unpopular in the Asian market, where it will stop receiving new content after March 2014. It's even less popular in Japan, where the game/virtual reality space is to cease updating after this September.
In any case, Sony doesn't appear to have given up on the whole endeavor and may be looking to implement it on the next-gen PlayStation 4 platform.
Is PlayStation 4 getting PS Home? This image says yes:
The icon was spotted by a keen-eyed redditor, who created a comparison image with a current home logo and the logo that showed up during the UI demo at the GameStop Conference which took place recently.
Needless to say, we're calling this one a rumor as there's no hard evidence that PS Home will be supported on the PS4, but there's a pretty good chance that it will be.
